Sneak Peeks

Some of our favorite vintage finds have come from spur of the moment stops at garage and estate sales. Today just happened to be one of those days. We found some superb shoes and other heavenly items that we’ll be posting in the next few months. We might save some for a rainy day, but in the meantime here is a peek at today’s loot from a last minute estate sale (we literally walked in fifteen minutes before they were packing up to leave!) in a gorgeous mid-century home in Seattle.

Tell us, which one are you most excited for?

Silver Earrings

We know we said we would only be announcing our listings by Facebook this week, but this one deserves it’s own post.

This pair of earrings is one of those things that one of us falls in love with right away and wants to keep for ourselves, but in the end it turns out that it’s too wonderful not to share!

Xochi Earrings

The perfectly imperfect little sterling screw-backs are from the 1930’s-1940’s and were handcrafted in Mexico.

Xochi Earrings

We found them in the house of a woman who apparently had an old steamer trunk in her attic filled with items from the era. She had great taste, and we were sad to have to leave behind a number of lovely pieces of jewelry, and unique vintage housewares. We actually found our near-perfect condition “Madison” Coat in the same house. It’s amazing to us that someone could have a trunk full of treasures in their house, lovingly stored for so long. Were they forgotten about? Were they being saved for someone, or just for some special day? How long ago had they been packed up neatly and left on their own?

There is no way we can know the history behind such things, but we are certainly thankful to the woman who valued them enough to pack them away for us to enjoy years later.

You can view our “Xochi” earrings in our shop today.

This week…

Hello vintage loving friends!

We’re not posting much this week – if you’re following us on Facebook or Twitter you will get our notifications when we list new items, but other than that we are laying low, and doing our own fall-ish things – you know, sipping cider, searching for the perfect pumpkins, and rocking our boots and scarves. We hope you’re doing the same!

One more thing – we found a perfect new home for our amazing 1970’s men’s leather jacket. Hooray for matching up overlooked vintage treasures with the right people to love them!

Have a lovely week everyone!
